And so the competition starts... even before November!
I've been browsing the regional forums of the NaNo site... and it seems like the competition is strong in Cow-Town and FoCo. Example:
"Why would we want such a smelly town that we'd have to live in? We're just letting you live there. Everyone knows that Greeley is just full of people Fort Collins has deemed too smelly to live in the city. :)
You're going DOWN!"
A little healthy competition, eh?
How healthy is the competitive nature in YOU? How would we compare to our local regions and their combined count? How many words can we, as Wordcrafters, get when we combine OUR word count?
I think it'd be fun to see just how many words us, as bloggers, WoW-ers, and NaNo-ers can pull out, and to have a mass count to beat next year!
[Remember! NaNo's general guideline is 50,000 words! That does not mean you can't write more should your muse decide!]

I wonder if there is a way to combine all of the wow nanoers wordcounts together. I know that the Miami chapter had been challenged by the Nashville chapter and they have accepted.

I'm pretty sure it automatically combines the location word counts - there's a place on the site where you can sign up for a particular area, which gives you access to their forums. =]
Not sure if there's a way to create a custom group.

I don't think there's a way to create custom groups, but I'll ask the site admins.
One way of keeping a collective WoW-er wordcount would be for everyone to be on top of updating their word count throughout the month, and then just going through the list and adding everyone's up.
I think it might be cool to informally challenge another group of gamers. WoWers vs Warhammerers?
